I was invited to Donington Park last week to test the Porsche Cayman GT4, and honestly, I’m still thinking about it. It was one of those days that I won’t forget in a hurry…
I’ve been working really hard towards securing a seat in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB for 2026, so getting proper mileage in the car felt like a massive step. I didn’t really know what to expect before going out, you watch videos, I did endless SIM training, you read about the car, and you hear what people say, but until you actually leave the pit lane and push the throttle down for yourself, you don’t really know.
The first few laps were about getting comfortable and the car felt solid straight away. It’s heavier and more planted than what I’ve been used to, but in a really good way. Through the Craner Curves it felt stable, and under braking it gives you confidence to lean on it harder and harder. By the second run I started to really trust the car, and that’s when it started to flow.
And I was fast.
We worked on braking points, how early I could get back to power, and just understanding how the car likes to be driven. It’s quite honest, as in if you overstep it, it lets you know, but it doesn’t feel unpredictable. By the end of the day I felt properly comfortable in it, which is always what you want from a first real test.
What also makes this all so exciting is what the championship represents. The Porsche Sprint Challenge runs alongside the British Touring Car Championship, which is shown live on ITV and reaches around 17.4 million viewers over the season. That’s massive exposure! For me and for my team at GM11, that’s a completely different level of platform. It means national TV coverage, big crowds, huge race weekends, and the chance to put partner brands in front of a global audience.
But aside from all that, I just really enjoyed driving the car. It suits me. I like the way it reacts, I like that it rewards commitment, and I like that it feels like a step up. It also feels like natural progression in my career. Oh by the way – I turned 19 a few days ago.
Now it’s about putting the pieces together to make 2026 happen. Motorsport is tough financially, and stepping into Porsche is a serious move, but it’s one I’m ready for. I’ve shown I can adapt, I’ve shown I can fight for podiums, and I want to keep climbing.
If there are brands or businesses out there that want to be part of that journey, want to be seen on a car racing on live TV in front of big crowds, and aligned with a young driver pushing to move forward then I’d love to have that conversation.
I’m ready for the next step, let’s get you along with me.
