Gracie Mitchell Scores Second Podium of the Season at Jarama

The 2025 Iberian Supercars Endurance season rolled into Jarama with high expectations for Gracie Mitchell and the Tockwith Motorsport team—and they delivered a weekend full of pace, progress, and a podium.

Back on Track, Back in Business

After a solid season opener at Portimão, where Gracie and co-driver Luca Staccini stood on the second step of the podium after the chequered flag fell, all eyes were on Jarama as the next opportunity to convert raw speed into hardware. Gracie, still early in her first full GT campaign, is quickly establishing herself as a real threat in the GTX field—and Jarama was the latest proof.
Fridays free practice sessions were all about fine-tuning. The Tockwith Motorsport crew dialed in the #128 Ginetta G55 beautifully, and Gracie showed confident pace in every outing. As track temps soared past 30°C on Saturday, Luca climbed into the car for Q1 and immediately threw down a strong 1:42.200 lap, good enough for P4 in class.
Gracie said about her Q2 stint, The grid was looking pretty close. Track positioning could have been better as I had to deal with slower cars or the newer GT4s coming through making it hard to get into a rhythm. I always know I tend to perform better in the race over qualifying.”
With a red flag appearing towards the end of the qualifying session, Gracie took the sensible option to save the tires and boxed early.

Race 1: Flying Start, Fierce Stint

Come Sunday morning, it was time to go racing—where after a really strong opening session from Luca Staccini the car was handed over to Gracie who powered through the field securing 2nd place in Class and a thoroughly-deserved stride on to the podium. Gracie spoke after the race about the win being the only thing on her mind, but had to endure a 5-second pit stop handicap which eventually knocked them back to P2 in class.
Speaking later that day she said: “Luca started in third and was maintaining a position to fight for the win in first place. He handed it over to me and I comfortably maintained the pace and we finished in second position.”

Race 2: From Climb to Cruel Twist

In the second 50-minute contest on Sunday afternoon, it was Gracie who took the opening stint and immediately moved the #128 Ginetta into third in GTX. After a smooth handover mid-race, Luca rejoined in fifth and immediately went on the offensive.

With his trademark determination, he picked off their class rivals one by one, slicing through the field and charging back up to P2 in GTX by lap 14. Unfortunately, just as he closed in on the leader and another podium looked certain, the extreme heat had an impact on the tires Luca had an off-track excursion which resulted an unfortunate early retirement.

Luca attempted to get the car going again but ultimately had to retire the car, ending what had been a standout drive on a tough note.

“Regardless of the result I’m really happy with the weekend,” Gracie declared. “Once again showing up for the first time and being able to go from struggling with illness, not quite being on pace to coming away with P2 in class and being one of the fastest in my stint. It was still a great turn out and I look forward to the next round.”

Eyes Forward to Vila Real, Portugal

Despite the DNF in Race 2, the weekend marked a breakthrough moment. Gracie not only scored her second podium of the season, but also led the class for the first time in 2025.

Now sitting fourth in the GTX standings with 47 points, Gracie and the Tockwith Motorsport team head into the summer break with momentum and confidence. The next round is the ever popular street circuit at Vila Real—and with the performance at Jarama fresh in mind, the team is hungry for more.

Stay tuned. This journey’s just getting started.
