Wow—what a whirlwind! Just a few days ago, I had no idea I’d be packing my bags for Portugal to race in the Iberian Supercar Endurance Series at Estoril. It was a last-minute opportunity, but when you get the call to race, you drop everything and go. I’m so grateful to Tockwith Motorsport for giving me this chance—it’s been an experience I’ll never forget!
This was my first European race weekend, and what a way to start: racing in a Ginetta G55 on an iconic track like Estoril. Here’s how the weekend unfolded:
Race 1: Calm Before the Storm
We started the weekend strong, qualifying P4. I had the honour of starting the race and holding our position. After my stint, my teammate took over and pushed hard to close the gap to P3. Unfortunately, we ran out of time and finished P4, but it was a solid, drama-free race to kick things off.
Race 2: My First Win!
Race 2 was where the magic happened. Starting P1, my teammate took the first stint, battling it out with P2 in an intense back-and-forth. When I got into the car, things got even closer, with P2 and P3 right on my tail.
With five minutes to go, the safety car came out, bunching us all up. After two laps behind the safety car, we had a one-lap shootout to the finish. I nailed the restart, building enough of a gap that I didn’t need to defend, and crossed the line in P1—my first-ever car win and on my first European race weekend!
I still can’t quite believe it. This weekend was a dream come true, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of my team, Tockwith Motorsport, and everyone who makes this journey possible. A huge thank you to NRG Karting, NRG Home and Leisure, ECO Trailer, Optimum Motorsport, ONEVSP, and MAXPLANT, as well as my family and friends. You’ve all been with me every step of the way, and this win is for all of us!
Now, it’s back to reality—but I’ll be dreaming of Portugal for a while yet. Here’s to more adventures and opportunities like this in the future!
