Gracie isn’t just making waves on the racetrack—she’s also hitting top gear in the classroom. Currently in her second year at Loughborough College, Gracie is enrolled in the Motorsport UK Enhanced Programme, a unique course designed to prepare aspiring motorsport professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed both on and off the track.

The programme, which Gracie secured through a competitive scholarship application, combines practical experience with academic learning tailored to the motorsport world. It offers students an in-depth education in areas such as vehicle mechanics, e-sports, and physical fitness, alongside broader studies in sports demographics, nutrition, and the role of government in promoting physical activity.

“It’s a great mix of theory and hands-on work,” Gracie explains. “We cover everything from the mechanical side of cars—where we’ll get a car and figure out what’s wrong with it—to e-sports, like simulators. Earlier this week, we did a six-hour race with the whole course split into three teams. It was intense but so much fun!”

The programme’s practical focus is a highlight for Gracie, especially as she progresses into her second year. The chance to work directly with vehicles and problem-solve mechanical issues provides a valuable foundation for understanding the machines she races.

The course also prioritises physical and mental preparation, reflecting the demanding nature of motorsport. Students explore nutrition, fitness, and the science of peak performance, with lessons tailored as closely as possible to the needs of motorsport athletes.

“It’s not all directly relevant to racing,” Gracie says, “but they’ve done a great job tailoring it to motorsport where they can.”

With a two-week on, two-week off schedule, the programme also offers flexibility—allowing Gracie to balance her education with her burgeoning racing career.

As Gracie continues to grow both as a driver and as a student, her experience at Loughborough is equipping her with the tools to tackle the challenges of motorsport head-on. Whether it’s on the track, in the workshop, or behind the simulator, she’s preparing to excel in every aspect of the sport she loves.
