After a challenging weekend in Valencia, Gracie Mitchell and the Tockwith Motorsport team arrived at Circuito de Jerez with a clear mission: redemption. Determined to convert their pace into results, they did just that, leaving Andalusia with a second place in class and an impressive third overall in the Iberian Supercars Championship.
Race 1:
Saturday’s opening race began with Luca taking the start from seventh position. He delivered a strong, composed stint, managing both traffic and tyre wear before handing the car over to Gracie for the closing stages. Jumping into the car, Gracie quickly found herself locked in a fierce battle with a rival GTX car, a duel that pushed her to the limit and showcased her race craft.
Though Gracie ultimately lost out in that particular contest, the experience highlighted her growing confidence in close-quarter racing. The pair crossed the line fifth in class and seventh overall, which was a solid foundation on which to build for Sunday.
Race 2:
With lessons learned and qualifying pace to match, Gracie lined up third in class and fifth overall for Race 2. From the moment the lights went out, she made her intentions clear, getting a strong launch and immediately renewing her rivalry with the same GTX competitor from the previous day.
This time, the tables turned. Gracie executed a measured but decisive move to get ahead, then built a comfortable gap as the race unfolded. A mid-race safety car briefly neutralised her advantage, but she handled the restart flawlessly, holding her position right up until the pit window. When she handed the car to Luca, the foundation was laid and he delivered, bringing the car home in second in class and third overall, marking a fantastic comeback for the team.
Gracie was quick to credit the people behind the result, saying “A massive thank you to the Tockwith Motorsport team,” and singled out team owner Nigel, her mechanic Rob, and everyone working tirelessly behind the scenes. “You guys put in 110% effort every single time!”
Her gratitude extended beyond the pit wall, too, to the fans and supporters who follow her journey both at the circuit and from home. “Your support is greatly appreciated,” she added, underlining the connection she maintains with her ever-growing racing community fan-base.
With the Jerez podium secured, Gracie and Tockwith Motorsport head into the final round at Estoril later this month (Nov 28-30) carrying strong momentum and renewed confidence. It’s been a season of growth, challenge, and resilience, and as the curtain draws near on the 2025 Iberian Supercars Championship, this latest result is proof that the team’s hard work is paying off.
The final round at Circuito do Estoril will see Gracie and Luca once again taking the fight to the front. If their Jerez performance is any indication, they’ll be contenders to watch right to the very end.
