Yesterday I had the chance to do something a bit different, and it turned out to be a really special experience. I travelled down to London to speak at the Rocking Ur Teens International Women’s Day Conference 2026, which was held at the incredible London Stock Exchange.

The event was all about inspiring teenage girls and showing them the different paths open to them in the future. Being invited to speak about my journey in racing in that environment was something I felt really proud to be part of.

The motorsport element of the day connected closely with programmes like Motorsport UK’s Race for Diversity initiative, which is supported by Lewis Hamilton’s Mission 44. The goal is to make the sport more inclusive and show young people that there really is a place for them in the industry, whether that’s as a driver, engineer, mechanic, strategist or working behind the scenes.

I spoke for about half an hour to the group, with Charlene, the event host, leading the session. My talk was mostly about perseverance in motorsport because that’s the reality of this career. It’s not always straightforward and you definitely have to keep pushing.

One of the stories that seemed to connect most with the audience was when I talked about taking part in a 24-hour karting event and gaining a World Record last summer. It’s the sort of challenge that really tests you mentally and physically, and it’s a good example of how motorsport is about resilience, teamwork and staying focused when things get tough.

After the talk we had a five-minute Q&A session, and the questions were great. The girls asked everything from what race days are actually like, to what it feels like being part of a sport that’s still largely male-dominated. We talked about the build-up to races, the nerves before getting in the car, the adrenaline once the lights go out, and the reality of the day-to-day work that goes on behind the scenes. It was also pretty cool signing autographs on their notebooks, and I hope they left the event feeling motivated, because I sure was.

For me, that part of the session was probably the best bit. Hearing their curiosity and seeing how engaged they were made it clear just how important events like this are.

Motorsport can sometimes feel like a closed world from the outside, but the truth is there are so many opportunities within it. If even a few of the girls in that room left thinking that motorsport, or any ambitious career path might actually be possible for them, then it was completely worth it.

A huge thank you to the Rocking Ur Teens team for inviting me, and to everyone who helped organise such a positive day. It was an honour to share my story, and hopefully it helped show that with perseverance and belief, amazing things really can happen.
