Spain, sunshine, and a brand-new track—what more could a racing driver ask for? On 1st February, Gracie Mitchell had her first outing of the year at Monteblanco Circuit, a fast and technical track in southern Spain.
While Monteblanco isn’t part of her official race calendar, the opportunity to test there lined up perfectly. “It’s always tricky finding test dates that actually work, so when this one fit, we grabbed it!” Gracie said.
First Impressions of Monteblanco 🏎️
Despite being new to the track, Gracie quickly got into the flow.
“It’s a really good track, actually! It flows well, and all the corners feel different. You’ve got a mix of high-speed sections and heavy braking zones, so it’s pretty technical. I made some solid progress and got more comfortable with the car.”
Interestingly, the car she tested wasn’t the same Ginetta G55 she raced at Estoril last year, nor the one she’ll be racing in 2025. In fact, by the time she takes to the grid this season, she’ll have driven all three of the team’s Ginettas!
A Mini Holiday in Spain ☀️
Testing in Spain isn’t just about the track—it’s also a chance to soak up the surroundings. Gracie, her dad, Ted Bradbury, and their crew stayed in the Spanish village of Íllora, not far from Málaga.
“It was a proper Spanish village, really inland—totally different from the places we’ve stayed before. It was like a mini holiday after the test!”
Even better? A relaxed schedule. Unlike the early starts of UK tracks, the Spanish way of doing things is much more laid back.
“The best thing? They don’t like getting up early! The day didn’t start until 10am, which is way more civilised.”
A Strong Start to 2025
With the first test of the year complete, Gracie is feeling confident as she heads into the season ahead
. Testing at Monteblanco gave her a fresh challenge, a new track to learn, and another step forward in mastering her Ginetta.
Gracie has just announced she has signed to compete in the Iberian Supercar Endurance Series, which runs in Spain and Portugal throughout the 2025 season! Stay tuned for more updates as she gears up for an exciting 2025! 🏁
