Hey everyone! 🎄
Wow, what a year it’s been! After an incredible (and slightly mad) end to the season with that last-minute race weekend in Portugal, it feels like everything’s finally starting to slow down. I’ve just finished up at college for the year, and I wanted to give you all a quick update on how I’ll be spending Christmas before things ramp up again in 2025.
I can’t lie—I’m really looking forward to a bit of a chill! I’ve got one more week of college left, then it’s back home for Christmas. It’s been non-stop between racing, schoolwork, and training, so a few days to put my feet up sounds amazing. That being said, knowing me, I’ll probably still be doing some kind of training or jumping on the simulator whenever I can! 😂
Family Time and Festive Feasts 🎅
Christmas for us is always a pretty relaxed family affair. My mum makes the Christmas dinner (which is always amazing, by the way), and my uncle comes round to join us. There’s nothing fancy or over the top—just good food, good company, and a lot of laughs.
We usually kick things off on Christmas Eve at a family friend’s house, which is always a fun time. It’s one of those traditions that you just have to do every year, you know? Then on Christmas Day, we stay at home, eat way too much, and enjoy a proper family day. My brother Josh (who’s 26) and my sister Lucy (who’s 23) will be there too, which I’m really looking forward to.
I’m looking forward to lots of walks with Tess…
… and Bonnie!
Festive Adventures and Dog Walks 🐶❄️
I’m also squeezing in some Christmassy outings when I can. The other day, we went to Stockeld Park near Wetherby, and it was honestly like something out of a Christmas movie! There were beautiful lights, ice skating (which I may or may not be terrible at…), and even marshmallow roasting. It was so nice to just enjoy the festive vibes and spend some quality time with my friends.
Of course, no Christmas break would be complete without some long dog walks! We’ve got two dogs, Bonnie and Tess, and they love running around in the cold weather. I’ll probably head out with my sister or meet up with a friend who lives on a farm nearby—she’s got horses, so there’s always something fun to do there.
Staying Race-Ready 🏎️💪
Even though it’s the holidays, there’s still work to be done! We’re trying to get some testing plans finalised for next year, so there’ll definitely be some time spent on the simulator and keeping up with training. There’s a gym at home and one at college, and I try to go every day… well, maybe not every day, but I go whenever my sister can drive us both there!
I’ll also have a few assignments from college to get through (because of course I do), but I’ll be making sure there’s plenty of time for chilling out too. After such an intense 2024 season, it’s nice to take a step back, reflect, and recharge before jumping into whatever 2025 has in store.
Thank You and Merry Christmas! 🎉
I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who’s supported me this year—whether you’ve followed my races, liked my posts, or cheered me on from afar. It means the world to me, and I wouldn’t be here without all of your love and encouragement.
I hope you all have an amazing Christmas, filled with good food, good company, and maybe a mince pie or two. 😉 Here’s to a happy and healthy 2024 and to more adventures on and off the track!
Merry Christmas and see you in 2025! 🏁✨
